CLASS™ Course - Prospectus

Preparer: Instruction Design Specialist
Input: Instruction Design Specialist, Instructional Designer, production manager, Media writers, media designers, subject matter experts
Approval: CLASS™ Project manager, NET production manager
Contents:

PROPOSAL plus:

  1. Beta Testing by CII (yes or no)
  2. Visual and Conceptual Design Plan (sample page layout, course-specific navigation, visual treatment including backgrounds, repeated elements, special buttons, metaphor characters, etc.)
  3. Media Requirements (media aspects that are already in existence like video, interviews to be conducted, animations to be created, archived photos, etc.
  4. Technical Considerations (technical aspects that are already in existence like glossary and sound files.
  5. Special Technical Considerations (Technical aspects that need to be created like audio glossary, audio files to send to teacher, drawing tool, graphing calculator, gating, etc. Also, any technical needs that exceed ‘normal’ parameters heavy use of audio or video, timelines, games or multi-media that will require extra production time.
  6. Assessment (number and location of graded assessments, computer/teacher graded, computer scored practice activities within the course included here)
  7. Production Plan (estimated time needed to finish the Final Prospectus or sections of the Final Prospectus, estimated script deadline, estimated time needed to produce the course, estimated budget)
  8. Content Outline and Flowchart (to the subsection level*)

* The course is made of Part, Unit, Section, Subsection and Page and in that hierarchy.
