CLASS™ Course - Proposal

Preparer: Instructional Design Specialist
Input: Instruction Design Specialist, Instructional Designer, production manager, state department of education representative, Independent Study High School subject teacher, subject matter experts
Reviewers: University of Nebraska-Lincoln subject faculty, state department of education, high school teacher, advisory board
Contents:
  1. Course Name
  2. Audience (grade level)
  3. Goals, Objectives and Outcomes (at least one if not all three)
  4. Diversity (how it will be addressed)
  5. Resources (textbook, interviews, CD, etc.)
  6. Instructional Design Model – Learning Theory (constructivist, experiential, theory-based, teacher role, etc.)
  7. Special Student Needs (prerequisites, language level, etc.)
  8. Content Presentation (story line, metaphor)
  9. Assessments (projects, computer and teacher graded, portfolio, etc.)
  10. Content Outline and Flowchart (at the Unit Level*)

This document is the first item of inclusion in the ‘Prospectus’. It should be no more than three pages in length. All members of the review team will have input opportunity prior to team work on the Prospectus. All areas must be address, even if “not applicable” is the response.

* The course is made of Part, Unit, Section, Subsection and Page and in that hierarchy.
